Back N Lay Ladder Help Guide

Welcome, to our Back n Lay Ladder.

It is easy to think, this is a silver bullet to continous wealth in the betting arena.

This is not correct, yes it is a great tool and you will have fun and make profit, as long as you don't get gready and try and stake too much for the bank you have.

So, start small, use 10pence or cents as a target profit. Don't bet odds on selections (under 2.00).

How can you bet that small on Betfair?

By using a bot, we of course recommend our Easy Bet Bot Deluxe www.easybetbot.com you bet even a few pence or cents.

We have kept the spreadsheet very simple, and it is for microsoft excel (as we use visual basic and macros). You will need a paid version from 2016 or better.

OK, let's look at the spreadsheet.

It has 11 work tabs at the bottom.

Bonus staking plans:

Intro tab has a link back to this page and also how to enable the macro should you have a problem.

Ladder-1 through to Ladder-4 are all the same, this allows you to run more than one series at a time should you wish to.

Now we will look at the spreadsheet in detail.

Most of the columns are auto fill you don't put anything in those columns the spreadsheet does it for you.

The sheet you see above is a completed one.

Before you can start using it you need to fill in the top 3 boxes.

(1)Profit Target Per Bet, in this example we are using .10 pence, so each race or event, we what to win .10p on the back, and 10p on the lay, so 20p profit target per event.

(2) Commisson Rate use an average if you have variable commission rates like in Australia. In this example I have used 7%

(3) Rounding, if you are using bookies for the backing side you may need to use this option, if you have to bet in rounded numbers (1,10,50,1.00) or if using exchange with bot you can select no rounding.

OK, those three steps now have you ready to start using the sheet. You only need to enter the odds into the back odds column (13) on the above pic.

Lets continue our journey on the above pic and want does what.

(4)Reset; This will sclear that data back to a clear sheet, ready to start again.

(5) Add 10 Rows: This willadd 10 more blank lines if you wish to carry on with the series.

(6) Help: Brings you to this page here.

(7) Show Bet Details: If you choose to record the details if the bets this button will expose that table. See below.

(8) No. this is the bet number (auto generated)

(9) Running PL, this is for the Back Ladder.(auto generated)

(10) Result: You need to input this after the result is known, it controls the Lay win/Lose and auto generates the new profit targets and staking.

(11) Stake Required: This is the amount you will bet on the horse, dog or team for the win Backing.(auto generated).

(12)Profit Target: The target for the back bet to make. (auto generated)

(13) Odds: This is the backing odds, you put this in and it will give you the Stake (11) that needs to be bet.

(14) Commission: If you are betting on exchanges then it will be Yes, if you are betting with bookies, then you will have No in this column, you can mix thenm up, if some bets are on each other.

(15) Lay Odds: You fill in the odds you can get for the lay.

(16) Stake Required: This is the staking you will put on the Lay bet. (auto generated)

(17)Liability: This displays how much you are up to lose should the Lay bet lose. (auto generated)

(18) Results: This is auto filled, as soon as the back result is recorded (10).

(19) Running P/L: This is the profit of the lays.

(20) Back Bet Profit: This is for the back bet -.09 means on this Bet 1 we lost nine pence. (auto generated)

(21) Overall Profit: This is how the series is going and it is this figure that the orange line on the graph reflects. (auto generated)

(22) Lay Bet Profit: This is for the lay bet on this bet in this case .10 pence means we made 10p profit on the Lay for this bet. (auto generated)

(23) The Graph, this gives you a visual display on how the series is going. Blue bars are the backing bets and pink is the lay bets. We can see only 5 back bets won, and 14 lay bets won. The orange line shows how the overall profit is going.(auto generated)

Bet Details Panel.

These details you can either enter or not it is for you only.

(24)Time: You can either enter race start time or race number.

(25) Selection: The horse, dog or team.

(26) Bookie/Exchange: This relates to where the Back bet is placed.

Now you know what the spreadsheet is, it is very easy to use so let's start.

Below is how a fresh spreadsheet looks.

1.You need to enter the Profit Target Per Bet, in the example below it is 1.00 (don't worry it shows the $ symbol, it is all currencies. If you are going to use 1.00 as the target, keep in mine that is both for the Back and Lay, so when either are successful you will make 1.00 profit per race. That is 1.00 for the back and 1.00 for the profit.

Please make sure you have a large enough bank, to cover the losing runs. On 1.00 target i would say 1,000 is safe. If using .10 use 100 bank at least.

2. The average commission you are charge.

3. Choose if you want the bets to be rounded, I suggest if you can leave as no rounded.

Now those top boxes are not changed until the series is finished.

You are ready for the first race, and you enter the odds of the Back into the Odds column in the back ladder (blue area.

The stake is auto calculated, and you can see is 1.08 to allow for the commission. On both Lay and Back side.

So the first bet the odds back are 3.20, the stake we need to make our target profit of 1.00 (the 1.08 show is covering the commission we clear 1.00 nett profit.)

The horse gets beaten, so the Back P/L is a loss of .49 and a new target profit of 1.00 (1st race profit, 1.00 2nd race profit, .49 stake lost, and commission equals 2.68 new target on the back side.

On the lay side as the horse lost the race, the Lay makes it Target Profit for the race of 1.00,and the new target is 1.08.

Why put the lay odds in? Because if the horse had won the race we could lose the Liability of 2.42. The Results column is auto fill if we put Win on the back side it will auto fill Lose on the lay side result and vice versa.

Moving onto the next race we put in the new Back odds. we know the lay stake is 1.08.

We see the second race horse is Back odds in 2.96, and it wins, so we collect our target and after two races the backing side is 2.00 profit on target as where is should be.

However the Lay side is -1.13 in the running P/L, Overall Profit after two races is 0.87 profit.

Here is the sheet after 10 bets.

We have made our 10.00 profit on the lay side on the 10 races (10 lay bets) it is on target as we had a winning lay on the last bet.

The Back side we have a 8.28 profit as we have a loss on the 10th back bet.

Overall profit on this series is 18.28.

We had only 3 winning bets on the Back Ladder, and 7 winning bets on the Lay Ladder.

On the graph you can see 3 blue towers they are the winning back bets, and 7 pink towers representing the lay winning bets.

The orange line is the overall profit, if you look at the lefthand side of the graph, you can see the figure relating to the overall profit.

The right hand side of the graph is figures for the individual bets Back and Lay.

Do we need to stop at 10 races as shown above?

No, we can click add 10 rows and continue if you like.

Tips to using the spreadsheet.

1. Don't use odds on selections, as the target can climb steeply if you get a few losing back bets.

2. Don't use odds over 6.00, as a few back wins ready jumps the Lay bet recovery liability.

3. Don't get gready and have a target per race (remember a 1.00 is actual 2.00, as it is 1.00 for the Back and 1.00 for the lay.) If you don't have the bank to support a long run of losing back bets. If using 1.00 Target, then safe bank is 500.00.

We suggest that you start and 0.10 pences or cents to see what the back losing sequences looks like to your selections.

4. Use a betting bot so you can bet the small amounts while learning how the sheet works. We recommend Easy Bet Bot Deluxe as you will see in the video tutorial.

Visit www.easybetbot.com you can use the Easy Bet Bot std version but the deluxe is a better option.

OK, trainer wheels on you can start, but watch the Tutorial video first.

Bonus 3 Staking Plans Explained

SAW-Backing Staking Work sheets.

This staking plan is the one we use in some of our bots.

It is Stop at a winner sequence, with an added profit delta to increase returns.

While this may look similar to the Back in the Back Lay ladder, but it is not.

One important thing is we are looking at a target profit amount that we put in Box 1 Profit Per Winning Bet.

This is the amount we will win if we get a winner in the first bet, or the fifth bet. We have 5.00 in the example above as our PPWB. So if the fift bet wins we will win 5.00 plus recover any losses.

However we have an addition tool called the Profit Delta (Box 2) in the above pic.

What is the Profit Delta?

This is the extra profit we want if we have more than one losing bet, in the example above we have put 1.00.

If you look at the above pic on the left had side you will see Bet 1, we won our PPWB of 5.00 after commission.

And Bet 2 lost, trying to win 5.00, so the new target 6.32, the 5.26 we lost, plus a profit delta is added of 1.06 (allowing for commission).

The staking we need on the third bet is 2.04, * 4.10 = 8.36 less stake = 6.32 less 5% = 6.00

Target was 5.00 and 1.00 profit delta= 6.00 target achieve, we continue, or we can rest but best to continue so you can see how the profit or loss is going.

My advice on the Profit Delta is not more that 25% of the PPWB target. If Profit Per Win Bet is 100, Profit Delta should not be more that 25.00

The commission Rate (Box 3) is the average commission you are paying the exchange. You can if betting with bookies put 0 in there, if you are mixing bookies and exchange you can use the Back Commission column and put No if using bookies and commission will not be calculated.

No Rounding, Box (4) is as in the Back-Lay ladder if you are betting with bookie and need Rounded bets, not odd amounts set it up on this option.

Stop Loss Trigger:

Set this so you have a stop that will stop the series continue if the losses mount up.

The rest of the Saw Worksheet layout is the same as the Back Lay ladder.

Add 10 Rows to get more rows to continue.

Reset, to clear the data and start a fresh sheet.

Just Lay Staking (Just like in the Back Lay Ladder.)

This will staking just like the lay one in the Ladder-1 to 4), but there is no Backing to fill in as you are only laying.

Profit Target Per Bet (Box 1) is the amount you want to win every lay bet so if you have 1.00 in Box 1, and have three losses before a winning bet, you will make 3.00 profit.

Commission (Box 2) use an average commission if betting in Australia where it is different in every state and type of racing. 8% is good average for Australian betting.

No Rounding (Box 3) is not that important on this option.

Also remember filling in the Yellow area is optional. But advisable if you are betting sports and waiting for results.

Just Lay Staking Video. How to use it.

New Lay Staking.

Best described as the SAW staking but for Laying, so a lot like SAW Staking above.

In this plan, we are looking at making a Target profit when we have a winning bet, unlike the Justlay, where we have a target profit for every bet, if that bet is not successful we still add the target with another new PTBR.

On New Lay, we have a target (PPWB) Profit Per Winning Bet.

So for example we set the PPWB (Box1) in below pic at 1.00, so when we have a winning bet (the selection loses the race) we will win the 1.00 target.

This plan also uses a Profit Delta (Box 2), after a losing bet we add this amount and a bonus profit. In the example below we have .20 cents of pences. This is only added after the first bet in a series loses.

This staking is very similar to the SAW Back plan, except we are using Lays and not back bets.

We have a Rounding option that you can use or not, best not to.(Box 4)

And a stop loss trigger (Box 5) once this amount is hit the series will end.

And like all the work tabs you don't need to fill the Yellow section in to use the sheet, however recommended if you are betting sports and then coming back to the sheet to fill the result in.
